Half-centuries from
Hasan Mahmood and
Fahim Ashraf steered
Faisalabad Wolves to a
three-wicket win over
Hyderabad Hawks at the Gaddafi Stadium. Ashraf, the Wolves captain, also took three wickets during the Hawks innings.
Chasing 253, Wolves were in trouble at 49 for 3 before Mahmood and Ashraf steadied them. Mahmood made 62 off 103 balls, with six fours, while Ashraf was more aggressive, scoring 71 from 80 balls with nine fours and a six. Wolves stumbled further after their dismissals, but twenties from Jahandad Khan and Naseer Akram dragged them home with two balls to spare.
Having been sent in to bat, Hawks lost both their openers for ducks, before forties from Mohammad Sadam and Faisal Athar steadied their innings. They were still in trouble when
Lal Kumar walked in at 119 for 5. From there Kumar smashed an unbeaten 55-ball 71, with eight fours and three sixes, to lift Hawks to 252, their innings ending with five balls remaining.
